This really is a problem. What it means to me is that unless you’re a phone hacker (so you can switch to your own ROM), I’d be cautious about recommending any Android phone outside of the Nexus series. To be fair, HTC does look much better on this chart.
The OS updates matter a bit less on Android since you can customize so much of the experience, but still, this is a poor early record.
